With reference to the cancellation of the Endurance competion at the World Equestrian Games Tryon2018, the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation (FISE) remarks the following:

1)   FISE respects decisions made to preserve the welfare of horses, as it was deemed necessary in Tryon because of the weather conditions (high levels of humidity).

2)   The lack of adequate organisation at the beginning of the competition is not acceptable for a World Equestrian Games event and it should be further analysed by FEI to provide clarifications to all partecipating NFs and to avoid similar future problems. However, FISE believes it was appropriate to follow the indications from FEI that, jointly with the O.C. and the Ground Jury, had defined a solution to address the problems arisen at the start of the Endurance Race.

3)   The entire Italian Endurance Team deserves appreciation for the behaviour held in this challenging situation, dealing with the problems at the start and the harsh climatic conditions. In particular, FISE wish to praise the effort and sportmanship of the riders Melissa Bisoffi and Daniele Serioli that, together with their horses, were riding with enthusiasm and perseverance until the stop of the race.

COMUNICATO DELLA FEDERAZIONE ITALIANA SPORT EQUESTRI

In relazione alla cancellazione della competizione dell’Endurance ai FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018, la Federazione Italiana Sport Equestri (FISE) sottolinea quanto segue:

1)   La FISE rispetta le decisioni prese per preservare il benessere dei cavalli, considerate necessarie per le condizioni meteorologiche (alti livelli di umidità).

2)   La mancanza di un'organizzazione adeguata all’inizio della competizione non è accettabile per un Campionato del Mondo e dovrebbe essere ulteriormente analizzata dalla FEI, per fornire chiarimenti a tutte le Federazioni Equestri Nazionali partecipanti, al fine di evitare problemi simili in futuro. Tuttavia, la FISE ha valutato correttamente di seguire le indicazioni della FEI che, congiuntamente al Comitato Organizzatore e alla Giuria, aveva definito una soluzione per affrontare i problemi sorti alla partenza della gara.

3)   L'intero team italiano di Endurance, che ha affrontato i problemi alla partenza e le dure condizioni climatiche, merita apprezzamento per il comportamento tenuto in questa difficile situazione. In particolare, la FISE desidera elogiare lo sforzo e lo spirito sportivo degli atleti Melissa Bisoffi e Daniele Serioli che, insieme ai loro cavalli, hanno gareggiato con entusiasmo e perseveranza fino alla fine della gara.
