The defending champions from Great Britain are leading the team standings after the first round of the Jumping Nations Cup at the FEI European Pony Championships in Arezzo, Belgium this morning. Clear rounds from Fay Adams (Some Like it Hot), Amy Inglis (Lea du Genier) and 2012 Individual champion Millie Allen (Song Girl) ensured the only zero score at the halfway stage, with Emily Ward’s four faults with King Mac discarded. France, Ireland and Germany are lying joint-second carrying four faults each as the second round begins this afternoon, while Belgium and Denmark share fifth place with eight faults and Italy, Netherlands and Sweden are on level-pegging with a 12-fault total. Austria is in tenth and last position with 16 faults, and team-member Johanna Sixt has lost her grip on pole position in the individual rankings after picking up eight faults with Lilly Vanilly this morning. Britain’s Allen and Adams currently head the individual leaderboard alongside Ireland’s Tim McDonagh (Imagine If One), Denmark’s Jessica Toelstang (Nikolina) and Megane Moissonier (Jimmerdor de Florys) from France. The second round begins at 4pm local time.
